Free Your King, 1994, España, 1', animación
I made this really short film for MTV within their 'Free Your Mind' project. The proposed theme was 'random acts of kindness'. This is a black humour tale about a nice guy-a caricature inspired on Spanish actor Gabino Diego- that wants to help a king. I filmed on a 35mm rostrum camera and got help from great DP Xavi Giménez (the just had finished School!) The film was aired worlwide on MTV and visited the main animation festivalas including Annecy.
Swan Song, 1992, España-G.B, 8'40", animación.
My degree film at West Surrey College of Art and Design (Now Surrey Institute). Hard work for one year that paid off as it was shown at the London Film Festival within 'Best of British Animation'. I sold the rights to Channel 4 (UK), SBS (Australia) and Canl Plus (Spain). It's a kind of feminist fairy tale mostly drawn-on paper, filmed and edited on 16mm. For the soundtrack I had two 'delux' collaborations, Jesus Gonzalo (all recordings of Spanish Barroque music are made for the film) and Michael Dempsey (ex founder of puck band The Cure). Today the film stills touring worlwide thaks to Instituto Cervantes. It's edited on the DVD included in the book 'Mamá quiero ser artista' written by Isabel Herguera and Bego Vicario.
